Hog Roast Denholme Served A Legendary Yorkshire Day Feast!

Hog Roast DenholmeHold onto your flat caps, folks, because August has arrived and with it, the much-anticipated Yorkshire Day! For 49 glorious years, Yorkshire has been celebrating this special day on August 1st with heaps of pride, culture, and, of course, fantastic food. This year, Hog Roast Denholme was thrilled to be part of the festivities, serving up a feast that left everyone chuffed!

When Alexis, the event organiser for a top-notch Yorkshire-born company, decided to throw a corporate luncheon in honour of Yorkshire Day, she knew exactly who to call. She’d heard glowing reviews about Hog Roast Denholme and was eager to see if our food could live up to the hype. Spoiler alert: it totally did!

Our catering manager, Jon, was buzzing with enthusiasm as he took on this booking. He knew that Yorkshire Day deserved nothing short of excellence and went above and beyond to craft a menu that would wow the esteemed guests.

The luncheon kicked off with an array of five sensational canapés that had everyone buzzing. Think tender roasted duck, chicken liver parfait that was as smooth as silk, mini quiches bursting with flavour, classic fish and chips with a gourmet twist, and pan-seared fillet of beef perched atop mini Yorkshire puddings. Talk about an entree!

Hog Roast DenholmeNext up was a comforting homemade soup paired with crusty bread rolls, setting the stage for the main event. Guests had the choice of either garlic and rosemary-seasoned spit-roasted whole English lamb with mint sauce and Yorkshire puddings or roasted sirloin of English beef with Yorkshire puddings and rich red wine gravy. Both meats were slow-cooked to perfection, ensuring that every mouthful was packed with flavour and tenderness.

And for those who like a bit of variety, Hog Roast Denholme offered grilled vegetable skewers with flatbreads and tzatziki dip. The sides were just as flavourful—seasonal veggies, buttered new potatoes, and fresh, homemade salads that screamed summer freshness.

Capping off this delectable feast, we served creamy cheesecakes and gooey sticky toffee pudding. These desserts were the cherry on top, making sure everyone left with a smile on their face and a satisfied belly.

The feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive.

Guests praised Hog Roast Denholme for delivering an authentic farm-to-table experience that celebrated Yorkshire’s local produce with elegance and flair. The luncheon was not just a meal; it was a tribute to Yorkshire’s culinary heritage, served with a side of sophistication. Let’s do it all again next year, shall we?
