We loved being part of Excel Hoardings’ 10th anniversary celebrations earlier this month. A decade in business is nothing to sniff at, especially in an industry as niche as temporary fire and bespoke hoardings, and the team clearly wanted to mark it properly, as they’d pulled together a family fun day at Cleckheaton Sports Club to celebrate.
With 150 guests expected, staff and their families included, there was a genuinely wide range of people to keep happy that afternoon, from toddlers running around on a sugar high right through to adults who, let’s be honest, can be just as fussy about their food as any five-year-old. Thankfully, the entertainment side was already sorted, with bouncy castles, an inflatable slide, and somehow an inflatable dart board too, which we’re still not entirely sure how that worked but everyone seemed thrilled about it. That left the food – and that’s where Hog Roast Cleckheaton stepped in.
Our catering manager Kayleigh led the team through the day, working towards a 2pm serving time and pulling together a proper spread featuring favourites from our Gourmet BBQ Menu. Thai chicken kebabs, tender pulled pork and handmade BBQ British beef burgers, all made using premium meat, sat right at the heart of things, with melted cheese and fried onions on standby for anyone wanting to take it up a notch. Grilled vegetable kebabs, with or without halloumi, gave the veggies and vegans plenty to get excited about too, while corn cobbettes dripping in butter, coleslaw, Greek salad and classic fries rounded the whole thing out nicely.
Guests couldn’t get over how fresh everything tasted, and it wasn’t just the adults tearing through plates either, the kids were just as enthusiastic, if not more so. Nobody left the buffet disappointed and by the time the afternoon wound down, every chafing dish and serving bowl Hog Roast Cleckheaton had brought was completely empty.
We had a genuinely great time being part of this one, and we’re always up for more like it. So if your business has a milestone coming up, or you just fancy treating the team to something a bit special, give Hog Roast Cleckheaton a shout.
