Got Guests With Dietary Restrictions? Hog Roast York Can Help!

Planning a wedding is one thing. Planning a wedding where the guest list includes allergy sufferers, vegetarians and 170 people with individual tastes and dietary needs? That’s a whole other level of logistical juggling.

Annie knew this better than anyone. With her big day at the Regen Centre approaching, she’d fallen for Hog Roast York’s Southern Slow Roast Menu – but she had one nagging concern: would it actually work for everyone coming through the door? Dairy-free guests, gluten-free guests, guests with seafood allergies and 29 people needing meat-free options. It felt like a lot to ask of one menu.

So she asked us. And honestly, it wasn’t a problem at all.

Hog Roast York put Annie’s mind at ease straight away. We promised everything on the day would be dairy-free and gluten-free as standard, plus a delicious meat-free alternative so that every single one of her 170 guests would have something genuinely delicious waiting for them – no compromises, no boring plates and definitely no guests going without.

Our team arrived on site at 11:30am giving us plenty of time to get everything prepped and cooked properly before the 2:15pm serve. The Southern Slow Roast Menu did what it always does: delivered big, bold flavours that fill a space before the food even hits the plate. BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole roast chicken and pulled quarter of minted lamb formed the meaty centrepiece, with a trio of glazes alongside – smoky, sweet, punchy – letting guests layer up the flavour however they liked.

Sides of seasonal vegetables, gourmet coleslaw and roasted baby new potatoes rounded everything out and for the 29 guests not eating meat, hickory-smothered pulled jackfruit piled generously onto buns was – and we say this without exaggeration – absolutely mouth-watering.

By the time people started queuing for food, the whole space smelled incredible and with variety and inclusivity at the heart of this menu, every guest was able to find something that suited their cravings and their diet, which is exactly how it should be.

That’s the thing about getting the details right from the start – by the time the day actually arrives, there’s nothing left to worry about except enjoying the moment. So, if you’ve got a wedding to plan and a guest list full of restrictions, don’t leave anything to chance – put your faith in Hog Roast York.
