For Whovians (that’s Doctor Who fans, for the uninitiated), November 23rd is an extremely important day! It’s the anniversary of the very first Doctor Who episode and it’s known far and wide as Doctor Who Day. This year, Whovians across the globe celebrated 61 glorious years of time-travelling adventures, and one fan in particular decided to go all out for the occasion with an unforgettable bash!Max, a hardcore Doctor Who fan, wasn’t content with a simple toast to the Doctor—oh no, he had bigger plans. After securing a function suite, he transformed the space into an otherworldly party venue, complete with alien decor, a TARDIS photo booth, and a Dalek-shaped cake (because why not have dessert in the shape of a villainous robot?). It was a celebration of time and space—and, of course, good food.
That’s where we came in! Max called upon Hog Roast Harrogate to bring our sizzling BBQ menu to the party, and let’s just say it was a hit. We fed 150 hungry guests with a spread that was flavourful and inclusive to all diets. Our handmade British beef burgers, gourmet sausages, and juicy chicken kebabs were the crowd favourites. And for the vegetarians and veggie-curious guests, we had veggie burgers and grilled vegetable skewers to keep everyone happy.
On the side, Hog Roast Harrogate served up Greek salad, pasta salad and mixed fries, along with rolls, wraps, and plenty of condiments to let guests build their dream plates.
Max didn’t stop at just the main meal though. Oh no, he went full Whovian with a grazing table packed with classic Doctor Who treats like jelly babies and Jammie Dodgers (thankfully, he skipped the infamous fish fingers and custard—phew!).
And because no Doctor Who celebration is complete without some timey-wimey drinks, a pro mixologist was on hand to whip up themed cocktails like the “Sonic Screwdriver,” “Banana Daiquiri,” and “TARDIS Blue Cosmos.”
The best part? Guests went all-in on the costume-optional dress code, bringing their favourite Doctor Who characters to life. Whether it was a spot-on Tenth Doctor, a glowing TARDIS, or even a cheeky K9, the creativity in the room was palpable.
Hog Roast Harrogate had a blast catering this incredible Doctor Who Day event, and we’d happily travel through time and space to do it all over again! Here’s to 61 years of Doctor Who—and to many more to come!
