Here at Hog Roast Headingley, we’ve provided tasty food for many wedding feasts over the years but we recently catered a wedding fayre instead, at the stunning Weetwood Hall Estate. Weetwood Hall is a 17th Century Jacobean Manor House that now serves as a four star hotel; Spitting Pig Yorkshire is proud to be included in their gold wedding package and we can also be added to the other wedding packages. It’s a pleasure to be listed as a recommended supplier for such a fantastic venue, and we have already catered there a few times already.
Located on Otley Road in Leeds, Weetwood Hall Estate is set in several acres of gardens and woodland and is a dream wedding venue. The recent wedding fayre meant that future brides and grooms could explore the surroundings, enjoy a guided tour and also tuck in to some tasty food. On the day, as well as Hog Roast Headingley cooking a centrepiece hog roast in order to make plenty of complimentary pigs in buns for the visitors, there would also be pizza ovens and an ice cream cart. The fayre would be running between 11am and 3pm, so our team members of Jon and Andy from Spitting Pig Yorkshire and Ash from our HQ in Burnley would need to arrive early to start roasting the meat in order for it to be ready to serve from 12pm.
So, last Sunday, on a cold, wet and windy day, we arrived at the venue at 9.45am and set up outside on the patio next to the main reception room. Other attractions on the day included singing waiters, an outdoor tipi from Garden Weddings, and the venue dresser Elegant Covers and Bows, who dressed three rooms and took along giant light-up letters that spelled LOVE and even a photobooth.
Our hog roast machine kept us warm, while the aromas filled the air around us and despite the gloomy weather, lots of couples and their families still attended the event. On the day, we met a lot of couples who had already booked our catering services for their weddings and also plenty of couples who were eager to include us in their wedding days too. Unsurprisingly, our pigs in buns were extremely popular and it was a wonderful day, with plenty of wedding packages sold and plenty of Hog Roast Headingley pigs in buns filling hungry tummies.
